Briefing on Afghanistan

Soldiers from the Royal Anglian Regiment, who have returned from a tour of Afghanistan, have visited the House of Commons to give a briefing to MPs.

South West Beds MP Andrew Selous was at the meeting about the situation in Afghanistan and other Army matters.

He joined the soldiers in New Palace Yard before the briefing, at Portcullis House.

Mr Selous said: "There was a good turnout from MPs to greet their local regiment.

"It is really important that we are well-briefed on their mission in Afghanistan to stop that country promoting terrorism in the UK."
