Times Past: Rugby reunion - thanks to the Times & Citizen

Bedford Modern’s 1961 first XV were reunited this month, thanks to a Times & Citizen appeal.

Old boy Oliver Sanders put out an appeal in this paper in January, and managed to trace 17 out of his 19 fellow players.

Six of the team still live in the Bedford area, with others travelling from as far afield as Portsmouth, Norwich and Taunton. Only David Voyle and Stephen Ogle could not be tracked down as 12 of the team met at the reunion.

The players were all presented with replicas of their 1961 shirts.
