Warriors put to the sword by rampant Bedford

Bedford Tigers 44 Gloucester Warriors 20

A play-off spot in the Midlands Premier is now secure for Bedford Tigers after a 44-20 win over a gutsy Gloucester Warriors side.

The Tigers started the game strongly, scoring a first minute try courtesy of Zander Pedan, with skipper Sam Richbell kicking the extras.

Pedan doubled his tally on 23 minutes after good work from James Pritchard, crashing through two tackles to score at the side of the posts, Dan Sharp converting.

Further tries soon followed from Jamie Goss and Ollie Francis, before Pedan ran 80 metres to complete his hat-trick, with Sharp and Richbell adding conversions to give Tigers a 28-0 half time lead.

Tigers scored again immediately after the re-start, although Gloucester managed to drag themselves back into the contest, scoring four tries, two of which were converted, to pull the score back to 32-20, which ensured a nervous final few moments.

Tigers' nerves were eased though with two tries in the final two minutes, Jack Brown being instrumental in both.

The first saw Brown hit a great line from a Sharp short ball before drawing the full-back and off-loading to the supporting Pritchard, who went in unopposed under the sticks, Richbell converting.

The final score came immediately from the kick-off.

Sharp claimed the ball and off-loaded to a flying Goss, who waltzed through the defence, took on the full-back and off-loaded to Brown.
Brown then galloped 40 metres to cross the line.
