Michael R Peters Sunday League round-up

Sharnbrook Casuals' hopes of climbing away from the foot of the Premier Division table suffered a blow as they drew 1-1 with Atletico Europa.

Partizan moved above Mile Road Old Boys into third spot after a 4-1 defeat of Royal Oak Kempston, while a youthful Bedford Sunday outfit trounced Westoning Rec 5-1 with 16-year-old James Lowe opening the scoring.

It is a case of as you were in Division One after the top three sides all recorded victories.

Leaders Supreme got the better of Bird in Hand Reserves 4-2 to consolidate their title challenge.

Danny Garbould and James Dean were on target for Clapham in their 2-1 victory against Bedford College and in the clash between Esquires and Sandy, Esquires eased to a comfortable 4-0 win.

Houghton Conquest were crushed 7-1 at home by Caldecote Young Boys, while Queensmen Reserves and Haynes shared the points from a 2-2 draw.

Inter Cople still lead Division Two after a narrow 1-0 defeat of AC Vita, Simon Pixley scoring the decisive goal.

Struggling Cleartough pulled off a surprise 3-2 win at Phoenix Bedford, while Sharks beat Wootton Wanderers by the same scoreline.

Stewartby enjoyed a convincing 4-0 triumph at Old Hastingsburians and honours were even in the clash between Cross Keys Wootton and London Road Old Boys as the game ended goalless.

Kempston Eagles' challenge in Division Three received a boost as they overcame leaders Wootton Park Rangers by the odd goal in three. Stacey Field had put Rangers ahead before two second half goals gave Eagles the points.

Rose and Crown Wootton claimed a 5-1 success against Kent Arms Bedford with James Snowdon helping himself to a brace.

Prems Jewellery had little trouble disposing of BMC, Terry Ricardo netting a hat-trick in a 7-0 rout, and Harrold edged past Salento 3-2 thanks to strikes from Lewis Selby, Tim Johnson and James MacKay.
In Division Four, Meppershall ended their dismal run of form with a 7-4 win against Wheatsheaf Flitwick and there were also plenty of goals in Gloucester Arms' 7-0 victory over Advantage.

Fox Old Boys, currently at the top of the standings in Division Five, lost 6-3 at home against Russell Park United, who moved up to third as a result.

Erik Starsota hit the target twice for Goldington Athletic who climbed off the bottom thanks to a 4-2 triumph against Wells Stars, while AFC Rose cruised to a 4-0 victory at Rose Biggleswade.

Today's Vote

What did you think of Proms In The Park?
Another triumph, possibly the best yet.
I liked the local singers Irene Grant and Bedford Choral Society.
It's not really my scene.
The best thing about it is the fireworks and lasers
