Bedford racer still leads the Formula Palmer Audi Championship.

Victory for Bedford driver Jason Moore at Brands Hatch at the weekend (May 2-4) helped him to maintain his lead at the top of the Formula Palmer Audi Championship.

Moore,19, led from the lights to the flag in the first race as he beat off competition from front row qualifier Tom Bradshaw.
He said: "Winning is an amazing feeling. Things couldn't have gone any better."

An incident at Druids with Jack Clarke put Moore out of the second race on the opening lap.

That means Moore, with 90 points, leads the standings by six points after five races.

Bedford-based Spaniard William Zollo, 17, slipped one place to eighth on 59 points after ninth and seventh place finishes, while Adam Foster of Bedford, who is 18 later this month, also dropped one place to 13th, with 39 points, after coming sixth and a recording a non-finish.

The next round of the 2008 Formula Palmer Audi Championship will be at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium on May 17-18.

Today's Vote

What did you think of Proms In The Park?
Another triumph, possibly the best yet.
I liked the local singers Irene Grant and Bedford Choral Society.
It's not really my scene.
The best thing about it is the fireworks and lasers
