Greyfriars club double as Riddaway takes plate honour

Bedford youngster Sam Harvey claimed his first main title in the Willie Thorne U17 Series with a 3-2 defeat of James Jelley.

Harvey, with breaks of 27, 34 and 36, opened up a 2-0 lead in the final before Jelley fought back to level the tie at 2-2.

In the deciding frame it was Harvey who held his nerve as he took the honours on the blue.

Earlier in the competition, Harvey saw off T Barley 2-1 in the last eight before easing past A Foster 2-0 in the semi-finals.

Josh Riddaway made it a Greyfriars club double when he beat Darryl Turner 2-0 in the plate final.
