Graham Clark back at Bedford just a week after leaving
Bedford Town manager Lee Howarth admits he was pleased but not surprised to receive a call from midfielder Graham Clark asking to return to the club - just a week after leaving.
Clark is now back at the Eyrie just a week after departing for Ryman Division One North outfit Northwood, where he made just one substitute appearance.
Howarth said: "I told him before he went that I didn't think it was right for him, but I suppose it is always flattering for players to find out that other clubs are interested in them.
"He realised he had made a mistake and was on the phone straight away asking if he could come back. I didn't want to lose him in the first place so obviously delighted to welcome him back."
And with fellow midfielder Callum Lewis (suspended) sitting out Bedford's Zamaretto Premier fixture at Bashley tonight, Clark is likely to go straight back into the team.
On the injury front, Howarth confirmed that captain Eddie Lawley, who broke his jaw during the 2-2 home draw with leaders Farnborough last week, is likely to be out of action for at least six weeks.
Howarth, meanwhile, also agrees with the board's decision to dispand Eagles' Football Management Committee (FMC).
He said: "It was set up with the best of intentions, but it hasn't really worked how the board hoped it would and I suppose if it hasn't fulfilled its remit, there isn't any point in it being there.
"It was an experiment that was tried for the right reasons, to try and raise funds, but maybe it hasn't worked so we move on."
