Modernians SC


Two more Modernians recorded regional qualifying times at the recent meet in Milton Keynes.

Jamie Douglas smashed through the 200m freestyle qualifying time with two seconds to spare, while Nicholas Stalley shaved a second off his personal best to qualify for the 200m individual medley.

Sam Briggs had another successful gala winning four golds and two silvers, James Carline won golds in both of his events and his younger brother David claimed two silvers.

Connor Delaney set new bests in winning the 200m freestyle and claiming silvers in the 100m backstroke and 100m freestyle.

Josh Steel won gold in his age group in the 400m freestyle, team-mate Nuala Maher claimed silver in the 100m breaststroke and Ashley Wareing took bronze in her age group.

Meanwhile, Cameron Howe, Hayley Alcock and Jessica Stalley all set new benchmarks in all their events, Abigail Summerfield claimed a new best in the 200m freestyle and Lucy Churchill-Coleman swam brilliantly in the 200m fly.
