Wootton claims eighth in London

Young Bedford & County AC starlet Suzi Boast ran an excellent race in the U20 3,000m at the Aviva London Grand Prix at Crystal Palace on Saturday.

In her first serious attempt at the distance, she finished fifth in a time of 9.39.46mins, placing her 11th in this year's UK U20 rankings.

She said: "Although I have never run a 3,000m race seriously before, my training indicated that I was capable of running sub-10 minutes and I am really pleased to have shown that on the track."
