Serious accident at St Neots causes long delays on A1 and back into Bedford.

Both carriageways of the A1 have been closed near St Neots in Cambridgeshire, causing long delays for Wednesday morning rush-hour motorists on the dual carriageway and surrounding roads.

Cars are queued back past the Black Cat Roundabout on the A1 near Wyboston and the tailbacks are also affecting the A421, with traffic standing all the way back into Bedford.

The cause was a serious car crash at around 7.30am.
