Gig organised on Sunday to celebrate lives of two hair stylists.

A special concert to celebrate the lives of two men killed in a car crash a year ago has been organised by their families.

Award-winning hair stylist Nathan Fish, of Manor Drive, Kempston, and his friend Boyd Evans died in the accident on December 16, 2006.

The pair were on the way to a party in Liverpool when their car was involved in a collision on the M6.

The tribute gig has been organised by Boyd's brother Daniel, and takes place on Sunday, December 16 at The Pitz, at the Woughton Centre, Milton Keynes.

Andie Fish, Nathan's mother, said: "We are calling it a tribute concert, but it's about getting people together to celebrate their lives, because they were super boys and would have been 21 now.

"Boyd's mum Teresa and I, who I had not met until just before the accident, have been propping ourselves up all year, it was devastating.

"This is a chance for people who maybe couldn't go to both funerals to celebrate their lives."

Nathan was one of Bedford College's hairdressing stars, beating talented stylists from across the country to win the prestigious Hairdressing Council Student Of The Year award in October 2006.

Until his death, aged 20, he had worked at 5th Avenue in Howard Street, Bedford, and behind the scenes at Channel 4 TV, crimping hair for celebrities such as Ewan McGregor, Catherine Tate and Charlotte Church.

He had also received news he had been contracted to work on BBC's Strictly Ice Dancing reality show.

Boyd was also a hair stylist and lived in Milton Keynes.

Daniel Evans' band Re-Ablo Run will perform at the concert, as well as local acts Lamplight, Amy Bullman and the Poppy Codeans.

Staff at Tony & Guy and 5th Avenue have donated prizes for a raffle, with all the money raised being split between charities Compassionate Friends, Roadpeace and Gonetoosoon.

Tickets for the concert cost £5, available on the door.
