Police appeal for witnesses following incident in Kempston

A woman was threatened at knifepoint by three men who stole her shopping bags, containing a pair of trainers.

The robbery happened in Downfield Way, Kempston, at 12.26pm on Monday.
Police sent an armed response unit, a dog handling unit and launched the police helicopter to search the Hillgrounds Road area after the three black teenagers, escaped on foot.

One of the youths was arrested nearby at 12.55pm and a second at 1.30pm. Police arrested the third man soon after.

A police spokesman said: "This is an excellent example of how useful the force helicopter can be in searches, as Hillgrounds is a large area."

The trio, two of whom are aged 15 and the third 18 years old, have been released on bail until June pending further police enquires.
Anyone who can help should contact Bedfordshire Police, on 01234 841212.

Today's Vote

What did you think of Proms In The Park?
Another triumph, possibly the best yet.
I liked the local singers Irene Grant and Bedford Choral Society.
It's not really my scene.
The best thing about it is the fireworks and lasers
