Figure bucks national trend with Beds having second highest rate in East Anglia

The teenage pregnancy rate in Bedfordshire is higher than it has been for seven years, despite a big drop in national figures.

Latest statistics show that both teenage pregnancies and abortions have dropped by around 13 per cent in England since 1998.

But Bedfordshire's health authorities recorded 266 teenage pregancies in 2006, that's 35 per 1,000 women, the highest rate since 1999 and the second highest in East Anglia.

The study was carried out by the Office of National Statistics and looked at births from 1998 until the beginning of 2007.

Have you had an annual pay rise in the last 12 months?
Yes, a whopper, thanks for asking.
A small one, but it has hardly covered the increased costs of living.
Not this year, I'm afraid.
What's an annual pay rise? I can't remember the last time I had one.
