General Teaching Council states complaints included 'handling a pupil inappropriately'
A school teacher has been found "guilty of unacceptable professional conduct" by the General Teaching Council.
The GTC's Professional Conduct Committee has imposed conditions on Helen Ashman's teaching after finding her guilty of unacceptable conduct while employed as a teacher at St Gregory's Catholic Middle School, Biddenham Turn.
A decision just published states: "On May 10 2006 she failed to seek assistance in the face of pupil disorder and handled a pupil inappropriately."
No further details of the circumstances leading to the decision are give in the decision.
The Committee ruled that as a condition of remaining registered as a teacher Ms Ashman must undertake a training course covering class management which incorporates appropriate pupil behaviour management, and must provide the Registrar with evidence of the successful completion of the approved course.
The conditions will remain in place for 16 months.
