Merry Christmas everybo... oh, hang on.

Yes, for the benefit of those of you who went away for the bank holiday weekend, Bedfordshire woke up to a fleeting, but very definite, morning of snow on Easter Sunday.

While the best, or worst, of the white stuff had gone by midday, eager Bedfordians headed to Bedford Park to make the most of the weather while it lasted.

The Easter Thunderball at Santa Pod Raceway was postponed for 24 hours because of the unseasonal weather.

More than 20,000 drag racing spectators were expected to see the first round of the National Drag Racing Championships, but the event had to be put off until Easter Monday.

Woburn Safari Park also closed to visitors for a day.
