David Van Day will soon find it is time for making his mind up
Former pop singer David Van Day has said he may stand against MP Nadine Dorries in Mid Beds.

Mr Van Day, formerly of 80s outfits Bucks Fizz, Guys n' Dolls and Dollar, said on Monday that he could put himself forward as a candidate against the Tory MP.

The 52-year-old plans to visit her constituency under the banner of his own "No Expenses Party" to find out if residents will be receptive to him standing.

Nadine Dorries is one of a number of MPs whose expenses have been published following an investigation by a national newspaper.

The Conservative member for Mid Beds denied many of the allegations, but admitted that she counts her Bedfordshire residence as her 'second home', with rent paid as part of her MP's expenses.

Mr Van Day was last in the public eye following his appearance in last year's series of the reality television show I'm a Celebrity... Get Me out of Here!. He finished in fourth place.

Fellow contestant Esther Rantzen has also said she may stand for Parliament for Luton South against Labour MP Margaret Moran.

He has also appeared in reality television show Reborn In The USA
