Teenager charged with killing of James Latimer in Bedford town centre
A teenager appeared at Bedford Magistrates Court on Friday charged with the murder of James Latimer.

Michael Anderson, 19, of Beaumont Gardens, Kempston, also faced an allegation of violent disorder.

He was remanded in custody to appear before Luton Crown Court on Monday, July 21.

Mr Latimer, of Dearne Walk, Brickhill, suffered severe head injuries after he stepped in to stop a fight between a friend and another man outside the Subwich takeaway in Midland Road, Bedford, at 3.17am on Sunday morning.

The 22-year-old was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital, in Cambridge, where he died on Monday.
