Nadine Dorries unbowed after recent complaint to parliamentary standards commissioner.

Nadine Dorries has vowed to carry on blogging despite widespread speculation that she was going to give up.

The Mid Beds MP was thought to be winding up her online diary after
statements she made at a fringe meeting of the Conservative Party conference last week.

She has had to make recent changes to its content after a complaint to the commissioner for parliamentary standards.

But she has now decided to continue.

Ms Dorries said: "I was thinking out loud about my blog in front of a group of other bloggers which I probably shouldn't have done. But I have had such a reaction that I have decided not to give up. Sometimes though, having so many people visiting the site can be quite scary – according to Google I had 800,000 readers in July."

The Tory MP said the blog helped her to right wrongs, and keep up her profile.

She added: "Quite often the media say to me off the record that they love the site. It is a way of getting information out before anyone else can print it or put it on television. And my constituents know what my side of the story is."
