Driver airlifted to hospital in Bedfordshire

Diversions on A421 after road traffic accident near to Great Barford
A woman is being treated in hospital after she was hit by a HGV vehicle on the A421 close to Great Barford on Tuesday (August 19).

The incident happened at 12.37pm, and occured while the 48-year-old woman was not in her own vehicle.

She had to be treated at the scene by an air ambulance team after suffering head and pelvic injuries.

The woman was then taken by land ambulance to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge.

Her condition is currently described as stable.

Diversions were put in place on the A421 ater the incident between Great Barford and the Black Cat Roundabout.
