16-year-old has £40 taken from him by group of four youths

A teenage boy was assaulted outside a Kempston supermarket last week.

The 16-year-old was at the junction of Manor Road and Bedford Road, near to Lidl, between 9.30 and 10pm on Wednesday, June 24, when he was stopped by a group of four or five black or Asian teenagers.

The group at first claimed he owed them money, before punching him and knocking him to the ground.

During the scuffle the victim's wallet fell from his trousers at which point the offenders took £40 from it and ran off in the direction of the river along Manor Way.

The victim suffered a cut lip and bruising to his face but did not require medical treatment.

Anyone with information who recognises the description of the offenders or who witnessed the assault can contact PC March Ephgrave, in confidence, on 01234 275043. Alternatively call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
