Pupils of Houghton Regis Voluntary Primary School skipping for joy in 1954 to celebrate the school's 300th anniversary - it was founded on September 10, 1654. The school has been replaced by Red House Court old people's flats.

The old Houghton Regis Baptist Church pictured in 1970. Its foundation stone was laid in July 1863 but it closed in the 1970s and the congregation moved to a new church at Parkside.
