A 31-year-old man was assaulted in Luton town centre on Monday afternoon, as he walked home alone.
The victim was strolling in Inkerman Street at about 3.30pm when he passed a dark burgundy coloured Volkswagen Polo, parked near to the Luton Foyer.
One of the three white men in the vehicle asked him for the time. The front passenger door was ajar and all the windows of the car were open, but as the victim leaned in to answer the question, one of the men dragged him in to the front seat and assaulted him.
The victim managed to escape and run away down Park Street.
One of the attackers is described as aged 25, 5ft 10ins, of slim build and wearing a dark-coloured baseball cap. The second is 6ft tall and in his 40s and the third is scruffy and of slim build.
The car was a Mark II, 1981-99 model, three-door vehicle, with a sunroof and roof rack bars.
