Popular sportsman meets and greets punters at unveiling of pub revamps

Frank Bruno was invited to drink and chat with a bevy of pub-goers at three Hungry Horse pubs in the area.

The brewery which owns the First & Last, Dunstable, The Chequers, Houghton Regis and Biscot Mill, Luton, unveiled their £2million new looks to the public on Saturday.

And they choose Frank to be their guest of honour.

The former world heavyweight champ chatted to customers, signed autographs and posed for photographs, during a crawl of the three bars.

General manager of the First & Last Stuart Coates said: 'It went really well, he's a really nice bloke.

'We choose Frank because he's a local celebrity and he fits in with the new style of the pubs.'

All three bars have live Sky sports, pool tables and serve traditional pub grub.

Throughout the day, Frank was also helping raise money for the Keech Cottage Children's Hospice.
